VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Few jobs offer you the opportunity to save a life, but as a volunteer firefighter and/or emergency medical responder you could be called on to do so at a moments notice. The men and women who serve the Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District as volunteer fire, search & rescue (SAR), and medical personnel share a common interest - the desire to help others in need. This year we'll respond to over 300 emergencies and will help prevent many more. The District allows you to choose between being a "firefighter" or "Emergency Medical Technician", however we would prefer that every volunteer become certified in all areas. If these areas seem a little too "daring", we have a very active Fire Auxiliary that is also all volunteer, and can always use your help.
TRAINING - Because the job is so important, volunteer firefighters and emergency medical responders are expertly trained and properly equipped. Each recruit volunteer must successfully undergo state certified structural fire, wildland fire, emergency vehicle driving, emergency medical, SAR, and hazardous materials training, depending on the particular area that the volunteer chooses to participate in. Training in all of these areas is provided at no cost to the volunteer.
BENEFITS - Once certified, volunteer firefighters and/or emergency medical responders are fully equipped with protective clothing and equipment. They are entitled to benefits through Worker's Compensation and disability insurance, and Fire Med & AirLife membership. Other benefits include financial incentives for alarm response and training attendance, which are provided thru the Volunteer Fire Association, to compensate the volunteer for their expenses.
SOCIAL OPPORTUNITY - As a volunteer with the Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District you will be a member of the Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association. Social activities for volunteers and their families occur throughout the year, including a summer picnic, annual Awards Banquet, numerous fundraisers, and others. The volunteers are involved in many other activities such as the annual Easter Egg Hunt, annual distribution of Christmas Dinners and toys to those in need on the Ranch, and Fire Prevention Week. Belonging to an extended family of firefighters and emergency medical responders offers social rewards not found anywhere else in the community.
EXTRA CASH - Even though you're a volunteer, you will be compensated a small amount for your time. Compensation is per call and drill attended.
NEED - The Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District is made up primarily of volunteer firefighters and emergency medical responders who provide the Ranch community with the benefits of full service fire protection and Medical response and transport without the costs associated with a fully paid department. Because of the growing need for firefighters and emergency medical responders in the Fire District, and the growing demands for performance, the community needs your help.
If you have the desire to help your community, believe in excellence at performing any job, find respect and appreciation rewarding, and want to earn some extra spending money, then the members of the Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association would appreciate your membership and help as a volunteer firefighter and/or emergency medical responder.
Volunteers care.
