Welcome to Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association

Thank you for visiting.
This web site is provided and maintained by the volunteer members of the Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association, Inc. We are a "not-for-profit" 501(c) (3) corporation registered with the IRS, and also are a "not-for-profit" corporation registered with the State of Oregon. This means that donations to our organization may qualify as tax deductible both at the State and Federal level. In addition to providing volunteer firefighters and EMT personnel to assist your Crooked River Ranch Rural Fire Protection District (Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue) in meeting its staffing needs, our goal and purpose is to raise funds to provide firefighting and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) training to both the volunteers and paid staff, and to purchase firefighting and EMS related equipment for use by both the volunteers and paid staff. By doing so, we can help keep your Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue and its personnel as "up to date" as possible.
The Crooked River Ranch Volunteer Fire Association, Inc. is a separate entity from the Fire District, with its own Officers and Board of Directors. As such, neither the paid staff of the Fire District, nor the Fire District Board of Directors belong to the Volunteer Association. We do, however, work together as closely as possible to forward the goals of both the Association and the Fire District. We will provide information on our website about the Fire District to help keep those that we serve better informed about various aspects of your Crooked River Ranch Fire & Rescue, including information on our "calls", District outdoor burning regulations and burning status, use and availability of "address signs", driveway requirements, and the like.
Our primary fire related response area covers the entire Ranch, plus a few homes just south of the Ranch proper. Our primary medical response area is slightly larger than our fire response area. We currently have 2 ambulances available for medical calls. A Paramedic is on duty 24 hours per day to provide Advanced Life Support (ALS) response. In addition, we respond to fire and medical incidences on National Grasslands that border the Ranch. We also have "mutual aid" agreements in place with neighboring Fire Departments, and both ask them for mutual aid and provide them with mutual aid when necessary. These mutual aid agreements cover both "fire" and "medical" situations. We also have a team trained in "high and low angle" rescue, along with the necessary equipment (ropes, climbing and safety equipment, etc.) to respond to incidents on the river canyons that surround the Ranch.
As mentioned, we want to keep you abreast of the number and type of calls that we respond to both on a monthly and an annual basis, and have that information posted here on our home page.
We want you to be aware of the "outdoor burning" status and regulations. You will see a sign posted on this page that is the same as the one posted at the entrance to the Ranch. You do need a Permit to burn, available from the Fire District office during regular business hours (923-6776), and you do need to call the Burn Information Line prior to burning (923-4633). We also have the "Outdoor Burning Regulations" posted on this site for your information.
We have provided you with a "printable" Map of the Ranch containing all of the new street names. It is 8 ½" X 11", so will print on a standard piece of paper.
We plan to keep this website "dynamic" by posting articles and upcoming events that we hope you find of interest, and suggestions on how to help keep your home, and more importantly you, safer in the event of wildfires. We also include tips and ideas on ways to reduce the likelihood of you having a fire in your home. To help us more quickly locate you in the event of an emergency, we have information on "address signs". Our goal is to keep you informed. Please visit us often.
If you have any suggestions on other information you would like to see on this website, or how either the Fire District, or the Volunteers can better serve you, please email us at volunteers@crrfire.com , write us, or contact the District office during normal business hours at 541-923-6776.
Thank you for your past and future support!
